BELINTERSAT-1 is a communications satellite designed and built by China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), for Republican Production Unitary Enterprise "Precise Electro-Mechanics Factory" (PEMF). Based on the DFH-4 bus, it weighs 5200 kg and has a design life of 15 years. The satellite has 38 transponders (20 C transponders & 18 Ku transponders) and will be positioned in GEO at 51.5 ºE. The C transponders include 3 beams: an African beam, an east beam and a global beam, while the Ku transponders include 2 beams: a European beam and an African beam.
PEMF, which purchased the BELINTERSAT-1, has been responsible for the implementation of the NSSC Satellite System project. It is also the owner of the satellite. PEMF will provide high-quality one-stop satellite transponder services, broadcast services, communication services, teleport services and data center services to customers in Belarus, Europe, Asia and Africa.
